Runway shows

Club Wynwood rents an open-air lot in Wynwood, Miami, where a runway show can be set up on a paved walkway of about 15 × 108 ft, with the ~4,000 sq ft covered Pavilion next to it as backstage and its own load-in gate. It isn't an official Miami Swim Week venue: it's where you produce a satellite show.

The runway is already there

The paved walkway that crosses the property is about 15 ft wide and 108 ft long according to the site plan, from the building door to the south parking lot. It's made of large slabs with turf joints, flat and step-free: the runway already exists, with nothing to mark out and no ground to level. If the show needs a continuous surface — for thin heels, a camera dolly or wheels — or a raised runway, your production builds it on top, and the walkway gives it a flat base. The two rows of palms stand about a foot and a half from the edge of the slabs, so the full 15 ft stays clear, with about 18 ft between trunks. These figures are approximate until they're checked against the survey.

The two sides aren't the same

Worth knowing before you draw the layout. West of the walkway there's turf and the paved area along the building, with the covered Pavilion behind: that's the side with firm ground for rows of chairs. East of the walkway it's all sand, with the row of six furnished cabanas. They're fixed, so they're part of the plan: they work as a sofa front row, and any seating in front of them needs flooring. How many rows fit on each side is decided at the site visit. Guests come in from the south, at the far end of the walkway, so the view at the top of the runway is the building's façade with its door and mural — and that's the backdrop in the photos.

Backstage next to the runway, load-in through its own gate

The Pavilion sits alongside the southern part of the runway, in the southwest corner, with its ridge parallel to the walkway: about 54 × 60 ft, ~4,000 sq ft covered including the eaves, open on all four sides. Because it's right at the edge of the runway, it works as backstage, hair and makeup or a press area without renting a tent; privacy screens for changing are up to your production, since there are no walls. The two entrances never cross: vendors load in from NW 1st Ct, on the west side, onto the paved strip along the building, a few steps from the Pavilion; guests come in from NW 21st Ct, on the south side. Gate width and how much weight the rafters can take are measured at the site visit.

Light, rain and timing

A show here runs at dusk, and the venue has no house lighting: runway lighting is up to your production, and the available power, with its amperage, is confirmed at the site visit. The thatched roof handles straight-down rain, but wind can blow rain in, so your rain plan should include side walls for the Pavilion. Seated and standing capacity for your layout, curfew, decibel limit and number of restrooms are reviewed at the same visit. On timing: the outdoor venue takes bookings from October 1, 2026, so the first Swim Week available is the 2027 edition. If your show needs a City of Miami special-event permit, start the conversation months ahead.
