Sweet 16

Club Wynwood is an outdoor Sweet 16 venue in Wynwood, Miami. For up to ~150 guests (according to the layout; confirmed at the site visit), book just the Pavilion: ~4,000 sq ft under a thatched roof, open on all four sides. Bigger parties take the whole ~22,000 sq ft venue, up to ~600 standing. The space comes empty: the DJ, catering and decor come from your own vendors.

What the parents ask

Parents come with a different list of questions. The venue is a private lot enclosed by hedges — not a park, not a street. It has its own parking, and the two entrances are separate: guests come in on NW 21st Ct and vendors on NW 1st Ct, so vendor trucks don't use the guest entrance. How access is controlled on the day, and whether you need security staff, is agreed with you at the site visit. Four things we don't publish because they haven't been measured yet: the number of parking spaces, the number of restrooms, the decibel limit and the curfew. All four are reviewed with you at the site visit.

The guest count decides what you book

A Sweet 16 is rarely 300 people, and the guest list is what decides which part of the venue you book. Up to about 150 guests, the Pavilion alone: ~4,000 sq ft that can be booked without the Garden and keep the party together instead of scattered across a space it can't fill. Above that, the whole venue: the ~18,000 sq ft Garden plus the Pavilion, ~22,000 sq ft in all, up to ~600 standing or ~300 seated. The Pavilion is also your rain plan — a thatched roof, open on all four sides, with side walls recommended for a windy winter date — and it has its own page. How many people fit under it with your layout is confirmed at the site visit.

Standing, with a DJ — not a seated banquet

A quinceañera is a seated event — a court, a waltz, a dinner — and it has its own page. A Sweet 16 is the opposite: a DJ, a dance floor, a photo booth, and most of the night on your feet. That's why the number that matters here is standing capacity, not seated. If you want to hang sound or lights from the Pavilion's timber posts and rafters, each load, and the DJ's power needs, are reviewed at the site visit. The paved walkway between the two rows of palms is a ready-made grand entrance. Everything else — catering, DJ, lighting, tables and chairs — comes from your own vendors: there's no kitchen outdoors, and the space comes empty.

The liquor license at a party for minors

The venue has its own liquor license and an area where a bar can be set up. At a Sweet 16, that raises a question before anyone asks it: the guest of honor is sixteen, and most guests are under 21. How a bar works at a party for minors — whether there's one for the adults, who serves and under what conditions, or whether the event is alcohol-free — isn't published here as a policy: it's reviewed with the family at the site visit, just like the curfew. Two things are certain: the license exists, and so does the space for a bar. Anything a web page can't decide for you is settled in person, before the date is confirmed.
